A RUST ban does not sit on the account. It sits on a set of marks scattered across the whole system: some in hardware, some in firmware, some plain in the registry and the filesystem journal. Here is the breakdown by layer, what the anti-cheat reads and what the pass does about it.

Why a RUST ban lands on your hardware

EAC plus Facepunch's own checks have been working off hardware for years. The account goes down first, then a snapshot of the machine lands on the blacklist, and any new profile from the same PC survives until the first check. Hence the forum classic: bought an account, logged in, banned again forty minutes later.

The old fix was crude. Bootable stick, clean Windows, hand-edited serials, a new IP. It ate an evening, and half the marks stayed put anyway, because nobody was reaching firmware or the NTFS journal by hand.

Vengeance takes another route: it closes every layer at once and scrubs the traces of the previous system, WMI cache and system file dates included. That is why no reinstall is needed. The pass takes a couple of minutes, then you reboot and join a server on a clean account.

What the spoofer does not do: it will not lift the ban on your old Steam profile, and it will not undo a server-side ban if admins blacklisted your nickname. The first needs a new account, the second needs a different server.

When to run the pass and which term to take

The natural moment for a pass is right before a fresh wipe. Banned midweek with a force wipe on Thursday? Grab the one-day key for 200 RUB, clean the machine on Wednesday evening and start with everyone else without losing your server.
